Loved

Before Anything Else, you must know that

You Are Loved

What Does “Loved” Really Mean?

In the Christian faith, love is not just an emotion.

It is the very nature of God.

God doesn’t have love.
He is love. (1 John 4:8)

The word Loved isn’t describing how you feel about yourself.

It’s declaring something true about how God feels about you.

It’s not based on your mood.
Not based on your performance.
Not based on your spiritual consistency.

Loved is not a compliment.
It’s a declaration.

You are not tolerated.
You are not barely accepted.
You are not a project He’s frustrated with.

You are pursued.
You are chosen.
You are secure.

And that love existed before you ever tried to earn it.

I’ve read John 3:16 my whole life, but this scene from Season 1 of The Chosen made me feel it differently. It adds emotion, context, and beauty to a verse we often know by heart — but sometimes forget to truly sit with. I hope you’ll take time to watch!

AGAPE LOVE

Greek: agapē (ἀγάπη) — unconditional, self-giving, steady, covenant love.

Agape is not reactive love.
It does not rise and fall with behavior.
It does not depend on worthiness.

It chooses.
It gives.
It stays.

Agape love is the bedrock of the Christian faith.

In Christianity, love isn’t just a feeling.

It is a Person.
And it is an action.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
— John 3:16 (NLT)

Love wasn’t merely spoken.

It was demonstrated.

The Cross is not proof that you became lovable.
It is proof that you were loved before you ever could be.

Agape moves first.
Agape gives first.
Agape stays.

And that is the love that calls you Loved.

The Bible Project is one of my favorite resources for understanding Scripture more deeply. They explain things in such a clear and beautiful way. Below is a video on agape — God’s self-giving, covenant love.

Fully Known. Fully Loved.

There is nothing hidden from God.

Not your past.
Not your thoughts.
Not the parts of you you hope no one ever sees.

He loves you fully knowing:

♥ your past

♥ your patterns

♥ your doubts

♥ your hidden fears

♥ your quiet shame

♥ your unanswered questions

…and nothing about that knowledge makes Him step back.

It draws Him closer.

“You have searched me, Lord, and You know me.”
— Psalm 139:1

God’s love is not based on discovery.

There will never be a moment where He learns something about you and reconsiders.

He already knows.

And He already loves.

You are not loved because you are impressive.

You are loved because He is love.

Fully seen.
Fully known.
Fully loved.

Why Knowing I’m Loved Matters So Much

If you don’t believe you are loved…

You will strive instead of rest.
You will perform instead of trust.
You will obey out of fear instead of freedom.
You will serve from insecurity instead of identity.
You will look for validation in places that cannot hold you.

When love feels uncertain, everything feels fragile.

But when you know you are loved…

Rest becomes natural.
Obedience becomes response.
Faith becomes steady.
Trust becomes possible.
Security replaces striving.

When love is settled, identity is settled.

You stop trying to earn what has already been given.

You stop performing for approval.

You begin living from love — not for it.

And that changes everything.

Sit In It

Not asking.
Not fixing.
Not performing.

Just sitting.

Sitting in the reality that God loves you.

Not the future version of you.
Not the more disciplined version.
Not the version who finally “gets it together.”

You.

Right now.

Sit in adoration.

Let His love speak louder than your inner critic.
Let it speak louder than shame.
Let it speak louder than disappointment.

You don’t have to earn this moment.

You are not working your way into His affection.

You are resting inside something that has already been settled.

Be still.
Be held.
Be loved.

Challenge

The next time you feel ashamed, disappointed, embarrassed, or like you’ve failed…

Pause.

Before you spiral.
Before you strive.
Before you try to fix it.

Sit in silence in adoration of God.

Not asking.
Not explaining.
Not defending yourself.

Just sit.

Let His love cover what you’re feeling.
Let it speak louder than shame.
Let it remind you what is already true.

You are not loved when you get it right.
You are loved.

Even here.
Even now.

Especially now.

A Small Bracelet. A Big Reminder.

This bracelet says Loved.

But it points to something far greater than fabric or thread.

It points to a settled truth.

You are loved by God.

Not someday.
Not once you grow more.
Not once you fix yourself.

Now.

This bracelet is simply a reminder — something tangible you can wear when your feelings don’t match the truth.

When insecurity whispers.
When shame gets loud.
When striving creeps back in.

Let it bring you back to what is already true.

You are fully known.
Fully seen.
Fully held.

Fully loved.

A Small Bracelet. A Big Reminder.
