Home is Holy

(Revival, Holy Ground)

It’s easy to pour ourselves into everything outside our homes—while the place that matters most can feel the most draining. The house is never fully clean, the chores don’t end, emotions run high, and life with kids can feel nonstop. It’s hard to keep pouring into something that never feels finished.

But I want to encourage you—you are doing a good job.

God gave you your children, your marriage, and your home as a gift. Not because it’s easy, but because it’s shaping you—refining you, growing you, and making you more like Him.

So when it feels overwhelming… when the mess piles up and your energy runs low… remember this:

Home is holy.

Not because it’s perfect, peaceful, or put together—
but because God is at work there.

And here’s something we all need to hear—it’s okay when you mess up.

It’s okay when you have a hard day.
When your patience runs thin.
When your emotions get the best of you.
When you don’t show up the way you hoped you would.

Because even in those moments, your kids are still learning.

They’re learning how to handle mistakes.
They’re learning how to apologize.
They’re learning that perfection isn’t the goal.

In our weaknesses, we get to show them God’s grace, His kindness, and His forgiveness—by the way we live it out ourselves.

Because home is holy not when we get it all right—
but when we invite God into it all.

“Do not come any closer,” the Lord said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” — Exodus 3:5

Right here—in your living room, in your kitchen, in the middle of the mess and the noise—this is holy ground too. Not because of what it looks like, but because of Who is present.
Your home is the shaping ground—where God forms you and your children—so that when you step into the world, you carry Him with you and overflow His love to everyone around you.

Revival doesn’t start at conferences, with big crowds or in the big moments.
Revival starts at home.

It starts in the way we speak to our kids.
The way we love our spouse.
The way we respond when we’re tired.
The way we choose grace when it would be easier to react.

The way we love in our home is what flows out into the world.

Because our kids won’t become who we tell them to be…
they will become what they see.

When they see and feel us loving them—and others—well—building others up, offering encouragement, apologizing, extending grace, and choosing kindness—they won’t just hear it… they’ll become it. And the opposite is true too.

That’s why it matters that we know who we are—and whose we are. That we allow God to heal our hearts, work through our wounds, and continue shaping us—so our children are better equipped for the world.

This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about becoming.

Becoming more gentle.
More patient.
More kind.
More forgiving.

More like Jesus.

And choosing to show up as who we truly are—rather than putting on a mask or taking our stress out on the ones we love most.

Because home is holy—
in the laughter and the chaos,
in the apologies and the grace,
in the ordinary, everyday moments.

You’re not failing.
You’re building something sacred.

A home filled with grace.
A home where love is lived out.
A home that reflects Him—one imperfect, beautiful moment at a time.

Heaven is the goal, and the only thing we can take with us is people.
There is no more important work.
