Ephesians 2:10 Keychain | Christian Encouragement Craft for Girls

Ephesians 2:10 Keychain

This DIY Ephesians 2:10 keychain is a simple Christian encouragement gift designed to remind girls of one important truth: they are God’s masterpiece, created on purpose and for a purpose.

I originally made these Bible verse keychains for middle school volleyball players to go along with my You Are God’s Masterpiece Christian team devotional, but they would make meaningful gifts for teen girls, athletes, Bible study groups, youth groups, friends, daughters, or anyone who could use a tangible reminder of who God says they are.

Why I Made These Ephesians 2:10 Keychains

I love making little things to encourage others. Creating is therapeutic for me, I genuinely enjoy it, and I especially love finding simple ways to share Jesus with the people around me.

One thing I’ve learned is that God’s love can be woven into just about everything we do.

Sharing Jesus doesn’t always have to be a big, formal, “in-your-face” moment. When you truly love God and desire to become more like Jesus, you naturally begin looking for ways to share His heart with others—to encourage them, love them, serve them, and remind them of what is true.

And sometimes, you can do that with something they think is really cute, too. 🙂

Ephesians 2:10 — You Are God’s Masterpiece

I made these keychains to go along with my You Are God’s Masterpiece: A Christian Team Devotional on Identity & Purpose.

The devotional is centered around Ephesians 2:10 and one simple progression I wanted the girls to remember:

CREATOR → MASTERPIECE → PURPOSE

God created you.

You are His masterpiece.

And He created you on purpose, for a purpose.

I shared this devotional at a middle school volleyball practice because I wanted the girls to understand that their identity and worth aren’t determined by how well they play, what position they get, what other people think of them, or how they compare to the girl standing next to them.

But I also wanted to give them something they could take home.

Something tangible that would remind them of what we talked about long after practice was over.

So, I made them keychains.

That is one of my favorite parts of creating these devotionals—thinking of a simple object that can help carry the message beyond the few minutes we have together.

Maybe the keychain ends up hanging on her volleyball bag.

Maybe she sees it before school on a day when she’s struggling with comparison.

Maybe months from now she notices it and remembers:

God made me intentionally.
I am His masterpiece.
I don’t have to become someone else.
There is purpose in who He created me to be.

That’s the heart behind these.

The keychain itself isn’t really the important part.

It’s the truth I hope she remembers when she sees it.

And you can do this in so many different ways. Make a bracelet. Add a Scripture card to a small gift. Create a keychain. Write an encouraging note. Tie a verse onto something you know they’ll actually use.

It doesn’t have to be elaborate.

Just find little ways to weave God’s truth into the things you’re already doing and the people He’s already placed around you.

You never know when one small reminder of truth might be exactly what someone needs. Don’t overthink it! Just say, yes Lord, and let him use his creativity through you!

Supplies for Your DIY Bible Verse Keychain

  • Scissors
  • Fabric or ribbon
  • Keychain Clips/Rings
  • Letter Beads
  • Charms

Here is what I used. The supplies are from amazon. I’ll link them, I don’t make any money on your purchase.

I use these square letters and numbers because the holes are bigger and easier to put on the fabric or ribbon

How to Make an Ephesians 2:10 Keychain

Step 1: Add Your Bible Verse

Thread the verse, word or phrase on the fabric or ribbon.

Tie knots between words so that each word is distinguished.

Tie onto whatever keychain ring you would like it on, add it onto a smaller jump ring, or add to a link charm. For this one, I tied it onto a flower link charm. Once I added the flower

Then add the flower Link charm to the fabric.

Step 2: Add the Masterpiece Beads

I then beaded the word “Masterpiece” onto string with a different sized letter bead. I get the string and the beads from Hobby Lobby. I made 12 of these so I do each step for every keychain before I move onto the next.

Step 3: Add Charms and Beads

I made a string of beads for each keychain to add come color and some fun

Clean up the string once you’re positive the knot will stay.

Because I like to complicate things, I added another flower link charm at the bottom of the Ephesians Fabric and a charm.

Step 4: Assemble Your Keychain

Then I added another charm (from hobby lobby) and connected all the different parts to the lobster claw clasp and key ring.

Ways to Use These Christian Encouragement Keychains

I originally created these keychains for a middle school volleyball team, but there are so many ways you could use this idea to encourage someone with God’s Word.

Make them for a girls’ sports team, youth group, Bible study, small group, Sunday school class, your daughter’s friends, teachers, coaches, or simply someone God puts on your heart.

You could also change the word, verse, colors, and charms to fit the person you’re making it for. The goal isn’t to make every keychain exactly like mine. It’s to create something she’ll actually use while giving her a small reminder of a much bigger truth.

She is God’s masterpiece. She was created intentionally. And there is purpose in who God created her to be.
