DIY e. newton-Inspired Bracelets: Make Your Own Encouragement Bracelets at Home

If you love the colorful, stackable look of e. newton bracelets, this is such a fun DIY to try at home!

With tiny seed beads, a few gold accents, stretchy cord, and letter beads, you can create your own e. newton-inspired bracelets for a fraction of the cost. Even better, adding words like BELIEVE, LOVED, CHOSEN, FAITHFUL, SHINE, or BRAVE turns a cute bracelet into a little reminder of something meaningful.

And don’t stop at making one for yourself.

Make a few extras and spread a little love around.

Give one to a friend who needs encouragement. Surprise a teammate before a big game. Leave one for a teacher. Let your daughter make bracelets for girls at school. Add a Bible verse or handwritten note and leave one for someone who could use a reminder that she is loved.

Girls already love making, wearing, trading, and stacking bracelets, which makes this such an easy way to turn something they already enjoy into an opportunity to encourage someone else.

Make One. Give One. Spread the Love.

One of the easiest ways to make this activity meaningful is simple: every time you make one for yourself, make another one to give away.

It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Pick a word that reminds you of that person, string it onto the bracelet, and give it to her.

LOVED for the girl who needs to know she matters.

BELIEVE for the friend who needs a little confidence.

CHOSEN for the girl struggling to fit in.

FAITHFUL as a reminder that God can always be trusted.

SHINE for the girl who needs encouragement to use the gifts God gave her.

Then, if you want to take it one step further, attach a tiny note or Scripture that goes with the word.

It’s an inexpensive DIY, a fun afternoon activity for girls, and a really simple way to teach them to look outside themselves and ask:

Who could I encourage today?

Because sometimes spreading God’s love can be as simple as a handful of beads, a few minutes at the kitchen table, and a bracelet made especially for someone else.

Supplies

  • Scissors
  • Beads
  • Spacer Beads
  • Letter Beads

I got most of my supplies from Amazon or Hobby Lobby. I searched “12/0 (2mm) Cylinder Glass Seed Beads” and chose the colors I wanted.

String and the bead holder

Spacer options. I bought one 2mm and 3mm so I had 2 sizes.

To help bead the tiny beads

Letter Beads of any kind. Mine are 5x5x5 from hobby lobby, but the round beads above would work to (not linked)

How to make the bracelet

I do not cut the string until it is tied, but you can.

First I put the string through the beading tool. Then I bend the beading tool to pick up the beads. There may be better options, but these have worked fine for me.

I put the end in the container, and start picking up beads and threading them down the string.

Add Spacers, Words etc.

Tie and you’re done! I always eyeball my bracelets, and they end up fitting an array of people! These are really fun and loved by woman and teens!

Small glass seed beads work well for the delicate look. Try size 8/0 or 11/0 seed beads, depending on how dainty you want your bracelet to be. Choose elastic cord that fits through your beads and is strong enough for regular wear.

Are these actual e. newton bracelets?

No. These are handmade bracelets inspired by the colorful, stackable style of e. newton jewelry. They are an independent DIY project and are not affiliated with or endorsed by e. newton.
